QUEENSLANDER Dami Im, 27, believes she can win Eurovision for Australia after being voted into the grand final.
Im's triumphant perform-ance of Sound Of Silence in the semi-final yesterday saw her bullet to second favourite, behind Russia.
The grand final will air at 5am tomorrow on SBS.
"I'm quite competitive, I want to win this for Australia," Logan-raised Im said. "Obviously the other contestants want to win as well, but I'm confident and I'm going to give it my best." Last year's Australian -entrant, Guy Sebastian, was fast-tracked into the grand final. This year, Im had to get past the public vote in the semi-final to make it to the grand final. Only Europeans are eligible to vote for Im - countries cannot vote for themselves.
"I'm very grateful and so relieved that Europe has voted for me," Im said. Her success has silenced some who felt Australia did not belong in the event. Im moved to Logan, south of Brisbane, from South Korea at age nine. Results online tOMORROW AT couriermail.com.au
