AUSTRALIAN Survivor will be filmed in the Pacific Islands.
Confidential can reveal producers have chosen tropical Samoa as the location for the much-anticipated Channel Ten reality series, which will air later this year.
Ten won't comment on the location, but it is understood production will begin in the coming weeks.
It was reported in January that the series would be shot on the Malaysian island of Pulau Tiga, where the first US season was filmed in 2000.
But it is believed Samoa has been selected for its dramatic landscape. Samoa was used in the US version in 2009. It is the first revamp of the format locally since Seven's 2006 season, which starred Guy Leech, Imogen Bailey and Justin Melvey (pictured).
Ten will be hoping to get it right, considering the US version has been on for 31 seasons.Casting is underway, with more than 15,000 people applying.
