If you are making tens of millions of dollars a year and have an entourage to handle everything in your daily life from preparing your meals to doing up your shoelaces, there is no sympathy from me.
CRAIG
Looking forward to Robbo writing 25 articles this week about what a hero she is and what a disgrace WADA are.

Disclaimer. I don't much like Sharapova, but I also don't like ill-informed wild guesses as to what has been happening.
PAUL
It's a heart problem medication - she by her own admission does not and never had a heart condition - unless you class a few of her heartless performances as the need for this medication.
TAGUR
If Maria Sharapova was using this drug to treat a serious medical condition rather than to enhance her performance then I will eat my keyboard. Yes it wasn't illegal until now (even though it should have been), but it is now. Please spare us the sob story.
MARK
Sure she broke the rules technically, but it's very harsh when she'd been taking it for all those years, poor girl. Good on her for taking responsibility the way she has, it's a shame to have to happen like this, I hope the penalties aren't too bad. Lots of sympathy for her.
DANE
Hird and the Essendon Football Club could learn a few things from her when it comes to admitting to your mistakes.
MIKE
I do have sympathy as it's a drug to help her health and it was legal for so many years. But, she should have checked at the start of the year to make sure it was still legal. Good to see her taking responsibility now, but when you're worth so much you have to be responsible always.

Nice to see an athlete cop it on the chin and say, yep, I stuffed up, I didn't pay enough attention to what I took and I'm accepting a ban. How refreshing! Especially in Australia.DALLAS
