CROWS All Australian Brodie Smith has penned another contract with the club which keeps him at Adelaide until at least the end of the 2018 season.
Smith, 24, is a pivotal creative defender who can run through the midfield and was ranked first in the AFL for long kicks in 2014 and second for rebound 50s.
His season last year was marred by concussions early in the year but he finished the season as one of the most influential players at the club.
Smith has played 97 games at Adelaide since being drafted with pick no. 14 in the 2010 national draft from Woodville-West Torrens.
He said it had been an easy decision to sign on.
"I'm really enjoying my football at the Crows and think we have an exciting playing group who are all working hard towards achieving team success," Smith said.
"To have the chance to run out with my mates in front of 50,000 fans week-in, week-out at Adelaide Oval is an amazing experience and something that I will continue to look forward to." Crows coach Don Pyke spoke highly of Smith.
He has spent the summer getting to know the players he had previously scouted for the benefit of the West Coast Eagles.
"Brodie is an exciting talent and a player with a unique skill set who always brings his team-mates into the game," Pyke said.
"He has an outstanding work ethic and is always doing what he can to improve himself and those around him."Smith follows fellow defender Daniel Talia in re-signing with the Crows in the past week.
