The freedom of being able to go wherever I want in the ocean. I can go 20km up or down the coast with ease. Being able to catch and ride 50 waves in a session is also great.
What are you most proud of?
Winning the open men's wave at the National Kiteboarding League on the Gold Coast in February.
How much time do you spend training?
In summer I would normally train about 20 hours in a week and in winter it would be for about 10 hours a week.
What will you never do again?
Kitesurf near an airstrip when a military transport plane is trying to land. Once I blocked the runway so the plane had to do loops around waiting for me to move. Apparently it only had 15 minutes of fuel left!
 What's your least favourite food?
That would have to be Thai green curry. Mum makes it every week and I just can't stand the flavour.
What was the last meal you cooked?
Probably chilli con carne. Very easy, straightforward and filling.
What was your recent worst buy?
A rubbish moped from my neighbour that only starts when it wants to start. It normally leaves me as far away from home as possible resulting in a long walk pushing it home.
What talent do you wish you had?
To be able to hold my breath for longer. It would be very helpful when I go over the falls on a decent wave and get held down under water.
How do you spend your spare time?
Surfing if there is swell, and shaping new kites and surfboards.
