TECHNOLOGY PARK, EVELEIGH
JUST in time for upcoming spring and summer weddings, Australian Bridal Fashion Week launched for media and VIPs this week, with local and international couture designs on show.
Guests, including model Yaya Deng and former Miss Universe Tegan Martin, watched the runway show that featured 20 looks, after being treated to a giant charcuterie banquet with matching wines.
Trends to watch: safe is out and risk-taking is in, with a number of weird and wonderful looks, including black veils and a bright orange dress, displayed on the catwalk.
Now in its second year, it's clear the event has set the benchmark for bridal fashion in Australia, proving there's no need to jump on a plane to New York to secure your dream wedding gown.BRIANA DOMJEN
