LABOR has claimed five WA seats including the new electorate of Burt. Neither side was willing to concede the tightly-contested seat of Cowan but it was expected to fall to Labor.Labor declared victory in Perth, Fremantle and Brand - all seats it expected to retain. Early counting had Labor's Matt Keogh taking Burt over the Liberals' Matt O'Sullivan but it wasn't until just after 7.30pm WA time that WA Labor declared the victory, tweeting congratulations to Keogh.
