THREE popular Western Australian bands - the John Butler Trio, The Waifs and Fremantle indie-pop stars San Cisco - will team up in Hobart on Tuesday to perform on the same bill for the first time.
San Cisco - Jordi Davieson (vocals), Josh Biondillo (guitar), Nick Gardner (bass) and Scarlett Stevens (drums, vocals) have played together since 2009 and came to national attention the following year when Triple J started playing their track Golden Revolver.
But it was their 2011 track Awkward that really made a splash, when it was voted No.7 on Triple J's annual Hottest 100 countdown. San Cisco's self-titled 2012 debut album featured two more Hottest 100-charting singles, Wild Things and Fred Astaire.
The band then showcased a more mature and sophisticated sound on their second album Gracetown, which featured the radio favourites Run, Snow and Too Much Time Together. San Cisco, The John Butler Trio, The Waifs and Hobart's 2013 Telstra Road to Discovery winner Christopher Coleman play a licensed/all-ages Australia Day concert in St David's Park from 1.30pm, Tuesday. Tickets are $80 for adults and $50 for children aged 5-15 (plus booking fee). Go to www.oztix.com.au
