A day to celebrate being Australians
AROUND THE STATE BANKSTOWN 10am-3pm: Paul Keating Park will come to life with free petting zoo, barbecue lunch, face-painting and non-stop entertainment. Old School Band will provide the day's music.
BATHURST 8.30am-3.30pm: The day begins with a barbecue breakfast at Machattie Park and citizenship ceremony at Englington War Memorial Hall before moving to the Bathurst Aquatic Centre at 12.30pm. There will be free entry to the pool, live music and entertainment, jumping castle, giveaways and a sausage sizzle. For more information go to www.bathurst.nsw.gov.au/australia-day.
BLUE MOUNTAINS Blue Mountains City Council Australia Day Awards and Citizenship Ceremony, Australia Day Celebrations and Gnome Convention official opening, musical entertainment throughout the day, children's activities, variety of food stalls, jumping castle and cup and saucer race for children. Motorcycle trike rides for all family members, car displays, Police Rescue Squad display, CareFlight display. Gnome Convention and judging of best garden gnome in different categories, children's foot races. Bring the whole family as there's something for everyone to celebrate Australia Day, our national day, in the mountains. There's no better place. 
CAMPBELLTOWN 8am-10am and 4pm-9.30pm: Koshigaya Park, Campbelltown and 11am-2pm Hallinan Park, Ingleburn.
Start the day with a barbecue breakfast, flag raising ceremonies, a visit from the 2016 Campbelltown City Australia Day Ambassador.
Free entertainment including Skippy's Outback Adventure Show, rides, and stalls. A spectacular fireworks display will end the night at Koshigaya Park at 9pm.
CESSNOCK Australia Day celebrations, held on   January 26 each year are an opportunity to recognise our community achievements and to enjoy the artistic talents of our city's youth, welcome our new citizens and to meet our Australia Day Ambassador. Before the official ceremony we invite the community to attend a barbecue breakfast in the oval. There will be a jumping castle, petting zoo, face painting, market stalls and the local radio station 2CHRFM broadcasting live at the barbecue. This year's Australia Day Ceremony will incorporate the Senior Citizen Of The Year Award. Come and join us on Australia Day.
DEE WHY 7am: Start your day at Dee Why Beach and James Meehan Reserve with a barbecue breakfast before enjoying a camel ride, thong throwing competition, rides and other entertainment.
DUBBO Held in Victoria Park Dubbo, the Australia Day Celebrations will start off with a free community barbecue breakfast at 7.30am. The official ceremony will start at 8.30am and will consist of the flag raising and singing of the national anthem, mayoral address, citizenship ceremony, ambassador address and presentation of the Australia Day awards, Citizen Of The Year, Young Citizen Of The Year, Sportsperson Of The Year, Young Sportsperson Of The Year, Services To Sport Award, and Cultural Person Of The Year. There will be many free activities in the park, including jumping castle and face painting, clown, static displays, animal display, circus west performers and more. After the official ceremony has finished the Aquatic Leisure Centre will be opened for one hour for a gold coin donation for the family to be able to cool off after the morning activities.
DUNGOG Breakfast will be served at the James Theatre, Brown Street, Dungog, from 7am with the official ceremony to begin at 8am to celebrate our national day, Australia Day.
GLENBROOK
9am-3pm: Glenbrook Park will host a family fun day with children's rides, amusements and a free activities tent. Adults can enjoy live entertainment and demonstrations, a market, and food stalls. A highlight of the day is the fantastic Gnome Convention, where you can bring your gnome, dressed up or not, to win prizes for the most fun and creatively dressed gnome.
GOSFORD 8am-10.30am and 2pm-9.30pm: Kick off the day with breakfast celebrations at Wagstaffe Square before enjoying an afternoon of entertainment, including a lantern parade in Anderson Park, Woy Woy.
HOLROYD 5pm-9pm: Merrylands Park will host the vibrant celebrations that will include live entertainment, free amusement rides, stalls and activities. Entertainment will include the Wild Aussies, Fingerprints (Powderfinger cover band) and The Whispering Jack Show (John Farnham tribute show).
10am-3pm: Merrylands Swim Centre will host the ultimate summer pool party, with free entry until midday.
GLOUCESTER 2pm-7pm: Gloucester Pool will host a pool gala evening with activities for the children and a lolly drop.
KIAMA 7am-2pm: Start you day with a $4 breakfast followed by an afternoon full of music at Hindmarsh Park.
KU-RING-GAI 10.30am-1pm: Kick off your Australia Day with a barbecue brunch at Bicentennial Park, West Pymble, followed by an afternoon of fun for all the family featuring children's show Shaun The Sheep, local bush band Stringybark, Wuruniri Music And Dance Group, a reptile show and sheep shearing demonstrations. There will also be thong throwing contest, amusement rides and free laser tag. There will be a free shuttle bus service from Gordon train station to the event as spaces for parking are very limited. Take a bus as buses will also run to and from the station every 20 minutes from Henry Street bus station.
MANLY 8:30am: Australian rugby union captain Michael Hooper and internationally acclaimed author Thomas Keneally will both be on hand for Citizen Of The Year awards, the celebration of Australia's newest citizens and much more. If that's not enough the annual Manly Inflatable Boat Race will be a sight to see (race entry is $50).
MUSWELLBROOK 9am: Free barbecue breakfast at the Denman Indoor Sports Centre followed by kids' activities including a petting zoo and Sparkles The Clown.
NELSON BAY 9am-4pm: Start your day cheering on the Australia Day Parade down Laman St, before heading to Neil Carroll Rotary Park for a day of fun. There will be marching bands, boot scooting and live bands.
PARRAMATTA 6am-11am: Start your day with the launch of Sydney's biggest hot air balloon sky display.
11am-7.30pm: A barbecue competition run by the Australasian Barbecue Alliance. If eating is more your thing, then enjoy a meal from the smoked, grilled and basted delights from the barbecue pitmasters.
11.30am-5.30pm: The famous Carnivale comes to Parramatta with more than 600 vintage cars to delight car lovers, motoring enthusiasts and families alike.
12pm-8pm: Chill-out with friends at our summer playground to celebrate the Hottest 100 countdown, with live bands and DJ sets, grab a cool drink at the outdoor bar and take a thrill ride at a mini amusement park, 12pm-9pm: Let the kids run wild at our Australia Day wonderland with a full day of entertainment, free workshops and meet and greets with SpongeBob and Dora The Explorer. Then as the sun sets, join thousands of people to party as the best in Aussie rock and pop hit the stage before we ring out Australia Day with a massive fireworks and pyrotechnic spectacular.
LIVERPOOL 2pm-9pm: Woodward Park is the place to be starting the day with a Citizenship And Awards Ceremony followed by non-stop entertainment on the main stage. R & B star Paulini and artist Matteo Charles headline the afternoon-long entertainment. Special guest is Australia Day Ambassador Dr Jamal Rifi.
PENRITH 6pm-9.30pm: Concert at the Lakes - Sydney International Regatta Centre. Entertainment for the kids at our annual Australia Day event includes SplashDance and Sam Moran - former Yellow Wiggle and star of Nick Jr's Play Along With Sam. Local group and Youtube sensations Newest are the latest pop, hip hop and R & B super group to emerge from Western Sydney, consisting of singers, rappers and dancers. Freestyle Kings, Australia's dominant freestyle motocross team specialising in FMX shows, will thrill with two performances. Meanwhile, Shannon Noll is the headline act and will perform hits such as Shine, Learn To Fly, Don't Give Up and What About Me. Penrith City Council's Bubble Soccer and Mobile Playvan will also feature. The night will end with our fireworks spectacular presented by Howard and Sons Pyrotechnics.
PITTWATER 7.30am-11.30am: Join the nearly 4000 people who celebrate Australia Day starting with a hearty breakfast at Newport Beach, including bacon and egg rolls, pancakes and lamingtons. There will be fun beach activities, roving entertainers and kids rides. The day will also welcome 40 new citizens and recognise Pittwater's Australia Day Award winners.
ROCKDALE 8.15am: The day begins at Depena Reserve at Dolls Point with a traditional Welcome To Country and flagraising, followed by a citizenship ceremony. A community barbecue will be held at 10am with lamington making, facepainting and performances by Dimaru Aboriginal Dance and Didgeridoo. There will also be drumming workshops.
STRATHFIELD 8.30am -1pm: Strathfield Park will host a community barbecue, citizenship ceremony and presentation of the Strathfield Citizen and Young Citizen Of The Year. Kids can have fun with a jumping castle, face painting and reptile display.
SUTHERLAND 1pm-9pm: Cronulla Beach will host eight hours of free entertainment including live music, dance, and native animals for the kids. The event will be topped off by the celebration of the new Australian citizens, while the night will go off with a bang with a fireworks display for all to enjoy.
SYDNEY OLYMPIC PARK 12pm-7.45pm: Cathy Freeman Park will host celebrations with free carnival rides and an Australian farmyard experience with free pony rides. Canterbury Bulldogs players will lead sports activities, while there will also be free craft shows. Grab a bite to eat from the international food court, as you congratulate Auburn's newest citizens. Free shuttle bus from Auburn and Lidcombe train station.
THE ENTRANCE 9am-9.15pm: A full day packed with fun activities at Memorial Park, including live bands, Blacksmith display, ice cream eating competition, and the firing of an original 1820 Carronade Canon. The day ends with a fireworks display at 9pm.
WOLLONDILLY8am-12pm: Start your day at the beautiful Pictons Botanic Gardens with a free breakfast and enjoy face painting, snake pit display, pony rides and jumping castle. To mark the closing centenary of landing on Gallipoli, local veterans will march in a flag parade.
