THROW another prawn on the barbie, have a hit at backyard cricket, indulge in pavlova and listen to a top music playlist.
That's the recipe for the perfect Australia Day gathering for breakfast radio hosts Mike Perso and Jennifer Hansen (pictured) - and this year they'll do it while wearing their Herald Sun Australia Day aprons.
The duo are preparing to kick off the perfect soundtrack for the Australia Day weekend with the Top 500 Favourites Countdown on smoothfm 91.5, starting tomorrow and leading to the top song on January 26.
Hansen's tip for barbecues is her red wine marinade.
"It's fabulous for any type of red meat but especially lamb. "Half a cup of balsamic vinegar, half a cup of red wine, one chopped fresh red chilli and three tablespoons of brown sugar. Marinate for at least two hours, or preferably overnight after tenderising." For your nearest apron stockists, go to heraldsun.com.aupromotions
