LINDA PEARCE'S SINGLES TIPS
Men: Novak Djokovic
Who else? The raging favourite is seeking a record-equalling men's sixth title, warmed-up by playing some the most flawless tennis rival Rafael Nadal has ever seen, is fit, in his prime, and fresh from one of the most dominant seasons in the Open era. Unless something hugely unexpected happens, the rest are playing for the runners-up trophy.
Women: Serena Williams
Boring, I know, but it must also be said that, this year, the women's prediction does not appear to be quite so clear cut. Williams, the six-time champion, has not finished a serious match since September, that US Open semi-final disaster the trigger for a period of physical and emotional rest. If her knee is not up to it, Victoria Azarenka is a not-so-dark horse.
