THREE Kiwis accused of killing Queenslanders in two -separate incidents - including the one punch death of Cole Miller - face being booted out of Australia.
Daniel Maxwell and Armstrong Renata (pictured), both 21, charged over Monday's death of Mr Cole, and Tamate Henry Heke, 36, charged with the fatal December road rage incident with Shane Merrigan, are believed to have caught the attention of the Immigration Department.
The Courier-Mail understands their cases are being monitored by the Department with a view to determine whether the trio should be immediately deported after the legal process has finalised.
While due process will be followed, which will include any jail time if courts convict the men of the indictable offences, the charged New Zealanders look set to reignite the debate on the growing number of Kiwis who have been deported because they contravene s501 of the Migration Act.
The Department, or the -Immigration Minister, can refuse a visa or kick out a nonresident if they are found to be of bad character.
In 2006, Matthew Stanley, 15, died after a one-punch kill outside a party in Alexandra Hills. Ironically Matthew's killer was also a Kiwi.Federal Immigration Minister Peter Dutton yesterday refused to comment.
