CHRIS Hemsworth has delivered Tourism Australia an estimated $50 million in global advertising value, but it -remains unclear how much it cost taxpayers to secure the Hollywood heart-throb to voice the campaign.
The star of Thor was appointed as global ambassador for the nation's peak tourism body and voices the new $40 million campaign.
The Federal Government and Tourism Australia yesterday confirmed Hemsworth (pictured) had been paid for the gig, but would not reveal the price tag without approval from the actor's camp.
Both the Government and Tourism Australia said Hemsworth accepted an offer lower than the commercial rate.It is believed Hemsworth was keen to do the role on a patriotic basis, rather than as a commercial decision.
