TAX CUT GIFT MILLIONS of middle-income workers are expected to receive a tax cut in the federal Budget to stop them moving into high tax brackets.
The Courier-Mail understands Treasurer Scott Morrison will target those earning between $37,000 and $180,000 - for the modest tax relief in his crucial first Budget.
As a move to counter the so-called "bracket creep", income thresholds will be increased to prevent an estimated 300,000 workers starting to move into the higher brackets through wage growth from next year. If not addressed, many workers would end up paying up to $2000 a year more tax within three years.
And in another election sweetener, the Government will fund subsidised dental care, including braces, for every child.REPORTS P7
