AN Australian website is hooking up dog owners with companions for their canines.
Dogshare.com.au works much like online dating. Borrowers create a profile including their past dog history and what services they can provide, from dog walking to overnight or holiday stays.
Dog owners contact suitable matches and arrange to meet.
Allison MacIntyre had her first meeting last week with Lila, a six-month-old Hungarian Vizsla.
Allison said she simply didn't have time to have a dog full-time. "I do not have enough time everyday to fully commit to a new member of the family," Allison said."But it's also a great way for my partner and I to decide if we really could look after a dog full-time and what kind of dog would suit us before we make the plunge."
