HIGHLIGHTS Women's 200m freestyle After withdrawing from the 400m freestyle earlier this week, Bronte Barratt was fresh for the 200m and it showed with her qualifying fastest yesterday. But a gold medal tonight is no sure thing, with Emma McKeon and Brittany Elmslie also right in contention. 
Women's 200m individual medley After being pipped for a spot in the 100m butterfly, Alicia Coutts hit back as the fastest qualifier yesterday and is expected to be the one to beat in the IM tonight. An Olympic silver medallist in this event in London four years ago, Coutts was expected to negotiate last night's semi-final ahead of the medals today.
Men's 100m freestyleAustralian swimming's big guns take to the water for heats of the 100m freestyle this morning. Watch for James Magnussen and Cameron McEvoy, as well as 17-year-old Adelaide sensation Kyle Chalmers. The top 16 qualifiers tonight move through to the semi-finals, which will determine the eight finalists fighting for gold tomorrow.
