THIS is the woman accused of being possibly Australia's drunkest driver - and she faces nine months' jail after pleading guilty to being behind the wheel while almost 10 times over the limit.
Hairdresser Angela Bisson, 42, will face a sentencing hearing on Tuesday after entering a guilty plea to a charge of high-range drink-driving. She was charged after being found passed out in her car outside her Runaway Bay salon last October. Hospital blood tests revealed a blood alcohol concentration of .48 per cent.
The reading shocked experienced police and drug and alcohol experts, who believed it was the highest ever recorded in Australia.
"That's a crazy reading, I've never heard of one that high," Professor Jake Najman, from the University of Queensland's Alco-hol and Drug Research and Education Centre, said after Bisson's arrest earlier this year.'You're reaching the point of being comatose at 0.3, so by 0.4 you should be out of it completely, if not close to dead," he said.
