HOW WILL IT WORK?
REFUGEES registered with the UNHCR will be interviewed by Australian officials. Those considered must provide formal identification and biometric data, have a health check, submit to national security screening, and read a state-ment of Australian values.
HOW WILL THEY COME?
REFUGEES who pass the screening process will be given a cultural orientation and flown to Australia on a commercial flight.
WILL CHILDREN BE ENROLLED IN SCHOOLS?
YES. All refugees will have access to all government services that Australians have at their disposal.
WHERE WILL THEY GO?
REFUGEES will be dispersed across the nation, both in cities and regions. The Prime Minister will ask each state and territory leader to indicate how many refugees they will take. The refugees will be placed in existing Syrian communities or in areas where it is likely they will be able to gain work.
HOW WILL THEY BE HOUSED?
SETTLEMENT services providers will determine this. Some will be billeted out to church groups capable of providing accommodation. Others will go to government housing.
WHAT IS THE COST?
THE Federal Government has allocated $700 million over four years for 12,000 refugees. An extra $44 million will be provided in humanitarian aid.

ALL refugees will automatically be given permanent residency. They will be able to access all services Australians access.
WHO ARE THEY?
