Australia's premier automotive extravaganza, Motorclassica will celebrate the history of horsepower next weekend.
Now entering its sixth consecutive year, Motorclassica has firmly established itself as this country's only internationally-significant exhibition of rare and exotic, historic, vintage, veteran, classic and collectable cars and motorcycles.
Motorclassica, will fill the halls of Melbourne's magnificent 19th century Royal Exhibition Building and the adjacent grounds with more than 500 cars and motorcycles as well as automotive memorabilia, artwork, models and other collectibles over the course of the three days 23-25   October 2015. 
Centrepiece of Motorclassica 2015 will be a range of special celebration displays, the biggest being a '50 Years of the Supercar' tribute, the global automotive genre that began with the legendary Lamborghini Miura of the mid-1960s.
An extraordinary line-up of some 20 strong 'Supercars' from around the globe, has been assembled. In addition to this will be a display centred on Ferrari, celebrating 50 years of Ferrari's legendary Dino.
As part of a tribute to half a century of the Shelby Mustang and in a major coup for Motorclassica, the Event will host Australia's first look at the new 2015 Shelby Mustang thanks to importer, Craig Dean's Mustang Motorsport.
Motorclassica will recognise some local heritage by celebrating 50 years of the Bugatti Owners Club in Australia via another dedicated display, while for bike enthusiasts, it will mark 70 years of the Italian marque MV Agusta.
An all-time record of 12 car manufacturers will celebrate their history and heritage at this year's Show, displaying a mix of all-new and current models as well as those from the past, drawing on their brands heritage.
Mercedes Benz and Jaguar return for the third year running, to be joined by 2014 attendees, Alfa Romeo, Lotus, Porsche, Maserati, Morgan and Caterham, while Ferrari, BMW, Citroen and MINI are new for 2015.
Joining the stellar line-up of contemporary car manufacturers, motorcycle brands MV Agusta, BMW Motorad, Harley Davidson and Royal Enfield will all showcase latest models from their current ranges.
An annual highlight of Motorclassica is the Australian International Concours d'Elegance, which this year will see a capacity entry set of more than 100 cars and around 55 motorcycles competing across 21 classes for the most prestigious Australian Awards in automotive exhibiting.
With Concours classes covering Pre-War, Post-War and Modern Classic categories, for vehicles emanating from Europe and the USA, there will be plenty of work for the Judging Panel headed by Chief Judge John Virgo.
Outside in the surrounding courtyard, over 400 classic and collectible cars and motorcycles, from 37 clubs, will be shown by enthusiast owners as part of the Lorbek Luxury Cars sponsored "Club Sandwich" where they will compete for Best Club Display and Best Presented Car awards.
Motorclassica 2015 will kick off, as usual, with another unique aspect of this automotive extravaganza: Tour Classica.
Docklands New Quay Promenade will be the starting point for Tour Classica 2015, which will again see select Motorclassica exhibits drive in convoy through the streets of Melbourne's CBD on Thursday morning (22   October) prior to taking up residence at the Royal Exhibition Building.
Tour Classica's rolling road show of some of Australia's most valuable and rarest cars and motorcycles will leave New Quay Promenade at Docklands at 9.30am, parading along La Trobe Street into Exhibition Street, then into Rathdowne Street before the arriving at the Motorclassica venue around 10am.
Also on the Motorclassica program will be the annual Collector Car & Memorabilia Auction, conducted by Theodore Bruce on the Saturday night, at which over 100 lots of automotive ephemera and around 30 classic cars and motorcycles will go under the hammer.
New for 2015, a 'Park & Sell' will operate on the opening day of the Event, Friday 23   October, giving owners of collectible cars and motorcycles keen to attract buyer interest a dedicated and secure area to showcase their precious metal.
A VIP Club Lounge will be debuted in 2015, the exclusive enclosure, located right under the dome of the Royal Exhibition Building, provides a first class experience for guests. The Lounge can be enjoyed as part of a package, offering attendance at the opening evening cocktail party, an unlimited entry three day pass to Motorclassica, priority entry each day, and premium food and drink service.
Motorclassica also entertains with special guest speakers on centre stage, vendors offering motorcycling paraphernalia, collectibles, automotive artwork and books, and specialists providing restoration support services.
