FIVE security guards have been sacked after being recorded gang-bashing two Australian men outside a nightclub on the Thai island of Phuket.
A video of the brutal attack, posted on Facebook, showed two men being kicked and punched by a group of five other men dressed in black shirts with the word "guard" emblazoned on the back.
One of the men victim was kicked in the head while on the ground, and another guard could be seen elbowing the man in the back of the head when he finally stood up.
At no point throughout the 48-second video did the two victims try to fight back.
Local police said the guards told them a group of six Australian tourists were aggressive and had hit a guard in the face after leaving the club, the Phuket Gazette reported.
The men had yet to file a complaint, police said.
The incident occurred at the White Room Night Club in the well-known party district of Bangla Rd in Patong.
"We are shocked and upset by the violent incident," nightclub management said in a statement. "The culprits of this despicable act have had their employment at White Room immediately terminated."Phuket draws 25,000 Australian tourists every month.
