Australia claimed four gold medals on the opening day of the Oceania track cycling championships in Invercargill, New Zealand.
Three-time world champions Anna Meares and Kaarle McCulloch combined in the team sprint to win gold in 33.297 seconds, beating New Zealand's Katie Schofield and Natasha Hansen. "I am really pleased that we came away with the win, we came here to win and solidify our ranking for Rio," McCulloch said. 
Stephanie Morton partnered with McCulloch in qualifying, posting the fastest time of 33.338. McCulloch made it a second gold when she won the 500-metre time trial in 34.237.
Tasmanian Lauren Perry triumphed in the scratch race, holding out New Zealand's Sophie Williamson and Alysha Keith. Taylah Christie claimed the fourth Australian gold, winning the under-19 500m time trial in 35.584.
Led by former world champion Alex Morgan, the young Australian outfit grabbed silver in the team pursuit behind New Zealand.
