COURAGE Belinda Marshall Despite her own health challenges after suffering from leukaemia for more than 20 years, Belinda refuses to shy away from helping others. Through fundraisers, selling bears and baked treats, she has raised in excess of $150,000 for the Leukaemia Foundation. Belinda is organising another fundraiser to raise money to plant a garden outside the window of Royal Darwin Hospital where patients receive chemotherapy.
INSPIRATION Dr Rama Jayaraj A senior lecturer in Clinical Sciences and a cancer researcher at Charles Darwin University, Dr Rama has inspired his students through an integrated, case-based approach in unique learning environments. He has initiated partnerships with many Territory organisations that provide support for his students' projects, made significant contributions to indigenous education and provided high-quality student support. 
ENVIRONMENT Mandy Hall For six years Mandy has worked with Ark Animal Hospital and has helped set up the non-profit organisation ArkAid Inc in order to make a real difference. Through the organisation, she has taken part in several events for the general public, schools and special interest groups to promote "Living with Wildlife", and has helped the wildlife hospital secure an animal welfare grant to upgrade the indoor wildlife room at the hospital.
CARE & COMPASSION Marieanna Hammond Her caring, nurturing and selfless nature has helped Alice Springs mother Marieanna go above and beyond for the children in her care. For more than 10 years, Marieanna has been a foster carer for indigenous children with very high and complex disabilities. With seemingly endless energy to advocate for the children, Marieanna affords opportunities for them to travel interstate and overseas.
YOUNG LEADER Abbey Holmes Whether it's on the footy field, in her career or helping to mentor others, Abbey continues to kick goals in showing leadership in all she does. Through the opportunity to play in the EJ Whitten Legends match, Abbey helped raise money for prostate cancer. In collaboration with the Darwin Academy of Sport, she has also helped launch the A Star Academy, which pursues excellence in leadership in sport and life.
COMMUNITY SPIRIT Andrew Warton From assisting Lifeline NT to mentoring a young indigenous man in the inaugural Indigenous Marathon Project, Andrew is driven by a desire to help others and has worked tirelessly towards improving the lives of younger people. He established the "Off the Hook" program, which gets youth fishing with police, helping to develop and strengthen relationships and respect for each other.
HEROISM Steve Martz Steve has been on the forefront of saving lives. Working for CareFlight for more than 17 years in Darwin and around Australia, he has spent years being winched down from a CareFlight helicopter to rescue injured people from mountains and coastal locations. Steve has designed and developed a new rescue stretcher, which is used by CareFlight and other rescue services.
CHILD OF COURAGE Kourtney Rimmer An ambition to educate others to better understand autism has seen eight-year-old Kourtney pledge to spread the word. Kourtney hasn't let his autism hold him back. He committed to cycling and running a total of 100km to raise more than $3300 for Autism NT. He has also spoken to his class, his school assembly, on radio and at an autism forum at Charles Darwin University.
OUTSTANDING BRAVERY Lee-Anne Stallan An extraordinary act of bravery saw Lee-Anne rush into her disabled neighbour's burning unit and drag him out of harm's way, saving his life. Returning home, Lee-Anne saw the courtyard of her apartment complex full of smoke. She found her neighbour on the floor of his burning bedroom and dragged him out on a rug, helped by his wife.
FAIR GO Romola Sebastianpillai Sri Lankan born Romola has called Darwin home for 40 years, and has dedicated much of her time to helping others. She has volunteered for many non-profit organisations including the Cancer Council and the Penguin Club of Australia. At 71, her work ethic has seen her organising events for Daffodil Day, Australia's Biggest Morning Tea and Pink Ribbon Day.
PEOPLE'S CHOICE Bob Shewring Vietnam veteran Bob Shewring has devoted years to lobbying the Federal Government to bring home the bodies of 25 soldiers left buried overseas. They were killed in the line of duty some 50 years ago. His mate - and the only Territorian killed in the Vietnam War, Reg Hillier - was among them. Bob's tenacity paid off, with the Federal Government recently announcing it would repatriate the bodies of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in Malaysia and Singapore.
