AUSTRALIA Post has been rocked by allegations of endemic racism after it was revealed a manager routinely referred to workers as "black bastards" and "slaves".
In a damning Federal Circuit Court judgment, the organisation has been slammed for failing to stamp out the scourge. Courier Viswanathan Murugesu took legal action against Australia Post after being racially abused by senior manager John Boyle while working as a subcontractor -between 2008 and 2011.
Both Australia Post and Mr Boyle defended the claim, but in a yet-to-be-published judgment the court found in favour of Mr Murugesu. Now he says the landmark judgment could open the floodgates for a raft of disgruntled employees who say they have been targeted because of their race.
