Key batsman
David Warner
As was the case in Brisbane,
David Warner and Usman Khawaja were the life of the party. Warner is at the top of his game after an indifferent Ashes series, and now has his 15th Test ton, and fourth against New Zealand - only Allan Border has more as an Australian against the Caps. Khawaja also backed up his breakthrough ton in Brisbane but had some luck along the way.
Key bowler
Ummmm ...
Hard one to answer. Fast bowler Tim Southee battled hard and beat the
bat a few times, while the recalled Matt Henry offered some grunt.
Off-spinner Mark Craig, brought on after lunch, was the unluckiest - he enjoyed the added bounce and should have had Khawaja dismissed twice caught behind in the
afternoon session.

The moment
Brendon McCullum's incorrect call at the toss of the coin didn't help but it would have to be the second over of the morning - and the first of Tim Boult's day. The Caps needed their spearhead to deliver - instead David Warner thumped boundaries off his first two balls, and 12 came from the over. A nightmare Brisbane replay was well underway.
