Adam Scott is back. That was the key storyline to emerge from Sunday's PGA Tour event in Kuala Lumpur and the timing is perfect for the organisers of the Australian Masters and Australian Open tournaments. Scott carded his best result for the year on Sunday to ensure he would bring strong form with him to Melbourne for the Masters and to Sydney for the Open later this month - two of the summer's "Triple Crown" events at which he will be a main drawcard. The 35-year-old posted a stunning eight-under round of 63 on the final day to only narrowly miss out on his first win of the season, finishing one shot behind American winner Justin Thomas in the CIMB Classic. Most importantly, his overall total of 25-under par (rounds of 68, 66, 66 and 63) included a parade of birdies marked by some terrific putting - the part of his game he has most struggled with in a year in which his previous best finish from 15 events was an equal fourth. He achieved that at the US Open and at the World Golf Championships' Cadillac Championship. Kevin Na and Brendan Steele tied for third at 24-under. Matt Murnane
