The pitch
The green-top seen in the most recent Sheffield Shield match at the MCG was an anomaly. If the team batting first can survive the first session with little damage they typically will enjoy great batting conditions for the remainder of their innings. Even though the day-one forecast is poor it is unlikely to have much detrimental impact on the pitch, given the hot conditions of the two preceding days. All that may happen is a greater chance to swing the ball - if the fielding teams' bowlers are skilful enough to take advantage.
