WHEN it comes to winning Survivor, Jeremy Collins knows what he's talking about. The fireman was unanimously voted the victor when Survivor: Second Chance finished up on Go! last Thursday evening.
Despite this, Collins (pictured) admitted he didn't think he had a chance when he was cast as one of 20 returning contestants looking to redeem themselves by playing the game for a second time.
"I thought I'd just go in and have fun," he said.
"Play reckless and take chances and try to make some moves." Viewers and his fellow competitors begged to differ, citing a mix of smart game play and loyal alliances as the reason for Collins' victory. The winner agreed there are strategies which will work when Australian Survivor starts on Ten next year. With more than 7500 Australians applying for the show, Collins was happy to offer his top tips to aspiring contestants.
First, he said, tight but flexible alliances are key. "Be open to voting out anybody and move your alliance anywhere you can," he said."If you can grab one person that trusts you, just for another three days (until the next vote), then do it."
