THE Australian women's team was knocked out by Germany in a quarter-final penalty shoot-out in the World League in Argentina yesterday.
Hockeyroos players were left in tears after letting slip a two-goal halftime lead as they fumbled their way through the final four shots of the shoot-out to lose it 2-1.Even with a little more than a minute remaining the Hockeyroos appeared to have booked a semi-final berth against New Zealand, however a defensive mishap allowed the Germans, who are ranked ninth, to tie up the game through attacking player Lisa Altenburg's second goal.
