Lachlan Murdoch has flown back to Australia and will be hosting drinks at his Bellevue Hill mansion, Le Manoir, on Friday. 
That's of course Chris Mitchell's last day as editor-in-chief of The Australian before Paul "Boris" Whittaker takes over.
But it will be more than a nostalgia trip. Lachlan's still to find an editor for The Courier Mail. After both Clive Mathieson and Mick Carroll knocked the Brisbane-based gig back, Lachlan is expected to interview Sunday Mail editor Peter Gleeson and Sharri Markson's mud-bath chum, Ben English.
Further up the News Corp food chain, there is rampant speculation about who will run News Corp Australia's subscription television business Foxtel in 2016. It has been widely discussed that NewsLifeMedia boss Nichole Sheffield - who used to run the Lifestyle channel when Kim Williams was Foxtel CEO - will replace Richard Freudenstein. Might Sheffield's new deputy Robin Parkes be stepping up soon?
