OPRAH Winfrey is back.
In an exclusive interview with the The Advertiser the most famous woman in the world - after the Queen - declared she was "thrilled" to be in Australia for her one- woman show, An Evening with Oprah, which comes to the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Friday night.
The 61-year-old star, worth $4.1 billion, is due to share her extraordinary yet painful life story, including suffering child sexual abuse and a teen pregnancy.
She admitted her last visit to Australia in December 2010 signalled a worrying time in her life when she was ending her Oprah TV show after 25 years.
"I knew this was coming up, the end of the show," she said.
"I knew that would take some adjusting as to who are you now, without that platform, and then the building and creating of a network and starting from scratch and all that it takes to do that." As for Donald Trump's call for her to be his running mate for the US Presidency, she wasn't having any of it.
"I would never," she shrieked. "The one thing on my honour that you can trust ... that will never happen is me running for office." According to Oprah the strongest female role model in the world today is pop singer Taylor Swift, also touring Australia.
"She manages the whole fame trip, what it means to be in the spotlight ... she is the true great role model." As for rumours that Oprah might be moving Down Under?
"I"d never rule out real estate!" she said with a laugh.WANT TO MEET OPRAH? FIND OUT HOW AT FACEBOOK.COM/THEADVERTISER
