DR JENNIFER FARNDEN, 44, Myponga After her husband sustained a serious brain injury in a head-on vehicle collision, Jennifer experienced first-hand the lack of support for those suffering such a life-altering injury. In 2011 she founded Families4Families with the aim of increasing knowledge and awareness of acquired brain injury. The organisation now has 16 statewide locations. 
DR NIGEL FARROW, 45, Redwood Park When Nigel's daughter, Ella, was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, he gave up his career as a musician and went back to university. Eight years, two medical science degrees, a Masters and a PhD later, he is a gene therapist, using stem cells to improve lung function with the Adelaide Cystic Fibrosis Gene Therapy Research Group at WCH.
SONIA MAZZONE, 39, Coober PedyAs director of Umoona Aged Care, Sonia has many indigenous residents in her care. She has raised the level of service so residents feel loved, cared for, respected and at home. She believes in the Elders sharing knowledge to keep culture alive. Through her dedication, the centre was one of five finalists in the Australian Aged Care Awards for 2014.
