BARRIE ORMSBY, 74, Gawler Barrie has been responsible for, or involved in the design of, more than 50 significant wetland projects. His work began in 1975 with a pioneering project to integrate stormwater into the landscape. He has created urban wetlands in Salisbury, Horsham and Mildura that provide habitat for waterbirds and aquatic fauna. 
JANET PEDLER, 57, Bridgewater For almost 40 years, Janet has been a conservation leader. As an active volunteer for Birds SA, the Nature Conservation Society of SA and SA Field Naturalists she has re-established native habitat in re-vegetation projects, one of which resulted in the return of a locally extinct bird species. She educates children through Birds SA camp.
DR RACHEL WESTCOTT, 54, BridgewaterRachel and her team of animal experts from SA Veterinary Emergency Management - a not-for-profit disaster relief body aiding animals which she founded - were among the first to respond to the Sampson Flat bushfire crisis. They helped save - and, sadly, euthanase - hundreds of suffering and burnt animals.
